A new year begins, and we’d like to take a look back at the improvements and new features we added to the SMOU app throughout 2025.
The app has grown to reach 1.7 million users, thanks in part to the continuous expansion of your mobility options with SMOU.
This year, we’ve worked intensively on redesigning some of the mobility services available in the app, making getting around with SMOU more comfortable, quicker and easier than ever.
🚖 Requesting a taxi with SMOU is now even easier
With the redesign, booking options are seamlessly integrated into the process, allowing you from the very start to indicate whether the journey is for you or for someone else, and to choose between an immediate ride or a scheduled one.
🅿️ With the new ‘Parking via app’, parking is simpler
The service features a clearer design and includes quick actions and smart filters so you can park quickly and easily.
⚡‘Endolla Barcelona’ has been revamped to offer an improved charging experience
The new, clearer and more intuitive design brings all the information together on a single screen and introduces new features for scheduled charging.
🚗 New car parks available with ‘Parking via app’
In 2025, we’ve added new car parks where you can enter without taking a ticket and pay directly through the app:
- Hotel Derby Car Park
- Parking Escolies
- Parking El Nou Raval
- Pàrquing Aragó 400
- Hotel Sir Victor Car Park
- Garatge Londres
🗺️ More municipalities with ‘Parquímetre’
We’ve also added three more municipalities where you can pay for regulated on-street parking with SMOU:

📱 User experience improvements
Throughout 2025, we’ve rolled out several enhancements designed to make your day-to-day easier:
- A new quick actions menu that lets you use certain services without opening the app.
- Payment with Google Pay and Apple Pay for ‘Parquímetre’ and ‘Residents Barcelona’.
- A new ‘Where did you park?’ section to note where you left your car in ‘Parking via app’.
- Promotions and prize draws now available in the app in the new Advantages section.
- A new, safer and more convenient Bicing sign-up process.
And now, we look ahead to 2026 with new challenges, with the aim of continuing to improve the experience of getting around Barcelona and the metropolitan area.
