smou is Barcelona's mobility app that allows you to pay for Blue and Green parking using your mobile phone. Forget about going to the parking meter, pay for parking from your vehicle and only for the exact time you park.
Easy and quick to use:
In order to use the parking meter service with smou, you will only need to have a registered user on the app, a credit card linked to your account and the 'Parking meter' service activated.
How to start a ticket?
- Select the 'Parking meter' icon on the bottom bar of the map.
- Press the 'Start ticket' button from your vehicle.
- Select the parking area, the vehicle you have parked with and press on 'Confirm ticket'.
- Once you have finished your parking, you will only need to press the 'Finish ticket' button.
A service available in Barcelona and the Metropolitan Area
smou allows you to pay for regulated parking in Barcelona and in 10 other municipalities in the Metropolitan Area with a single app. These are the municipalities where the service is available: Badalona, Castelldefels, Esplugues de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Montgat, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Joan Despí and Sant Just Desvern.
Check the forecast of available places
You can check the availability forecast for the Barcelona's Blue area. To do this, click on the clock-shaped button on the right-hand side of the map, indicating your location and estimated time of arrival.
The likelihood of available places will be displayed in 4 different colours: green if there is high availability, yellow if there is medium availability, red if there is low availability or grey if there is no data.
Cancel your parking fines with smou
If you have parked incorrectly in Barcelona city and you find a parking fine on your vehicle, you can cancel it through smou. You can do so by clicking on the 'Cancel fine' button that appears when you select the 'Parking meter' service.
